Key duties and responsibilities:
The Ultrasound Technologist must be fully competent to operate GE Logiq E9 or similar type of equipment, and to perform the full complement of exams generated by this technology, as demonstrated by past work experience,
The Ultrasound Technologist shall be responsible for entering exam information into the medical centers Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) as required by service policies and procedures. The technologist shall perform other duties as assigned.
The Ultrasound Technologist shall work under the general guidance of the Supervisory Diagnostic Radiology Technologist and the direct guidance of the radiologist during exams.
If any piece of Radiology equipment stops functioning properly, it is the technologist’s responsibility to inform the Radiology Supervisor &/or the COR
It is the responsibility of the technologist assigned a room to set it up for procedures and to keep it clean. Rooms are subject to random inspections and are expected to be maintained to a level of cleanliness that complies with medical center infection control policies.
The technologist is responsible for observing the departmental and hospital policies for the Exposure Control Plan for infection control or safety policies.
Personnel assigned by the Contractor to perform Radiologic Technologist services require a minimum two years of hospital experience or two years of ambulatory care experience.
The Ultrasound Technologist must possess and maintain an American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certificate.
All Technologist Must have and Maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Employees will have the ability to choose their preferred shift 45 days in advance
1) Monday through Friday
2) First Shift: Staggered shifts (may be required)
6:30 am - 3:00 pm
7:00 am – 3:30 pm
7:30 am – 4:00 pm
8:00 am – 4:30 pm
8:30 am – 5:00 pm
